Falling for Holmes

It started as a lark…a challenge presented by my fellow writing pirates on the group blog, Romance Writers Revenge (now gone, alas).

With all the new Sherlock Holmes adaptations in the media, I decided to play with the character…and No Place Like Holmes was born. It was fun, it was challenging and it is now available on amazon. It’s a novella, approximately 40,000 words and includes a the first chapter of A Caribbean Spell.

Here’s the blurb…

Not your ordinary Sherlock Holmes story, this novella finds Holmes playing caretaker to the time-traveling Jennifer. She literally drops at his feet, from out of nowhere. He finds the woman intriguing and a wondrous diversion from his life of poverty and solitary existence. The fact that she claims she travels thru time is surprising, yet not unfamiliar to him.

Jenny knew how chaotic time travel was, but she didn’t expect to find that Sherlock Holmes existed. But in her own words – “She accepted that there was no wall between truth and fiction, history and story. The two bumped up against each other, swapped DNA, fell apart, came back together… None of it made a lick of sense.”

Together, she and Holmes will discover the truth of needing people and finding a place to belong.
